Schulthess Maschinen AG has been successfully training apprentices since 1960. We aim to give young professionals a foot on the ladder and optimal preparation for the world of work.
As a mechanical engineering firm, we follow the training plans of the Swiss Association of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Industries (Swissmem). The range of mechanical and electrical engineering professions on offer makes the training very exciting and opens up a variety of interesting career prospects and opportunities.
It is important to us to also be able to offer permanent positions to our apprentices, wherever possible, following the successful completion of their apprenticeships. Many apprentices therefore stay on with the company after their training and benefit from our professional development opportunities.

Wolfhausen is the base for all of our apprenticeships.
Schulthess apprentices attend the vocational colleges in Dietikon, Wetzikon and Rüti.
To date, Schulthess has trained more than 500 apprentices.

During your apprenticeship, you will work in six different departments, each of which you will train and work in for six months. In Customer Service, you will be in contact with our customers and plan the routes for our fitters. In Sales Service, you will prepare quotations, process orders and be in constant contact with our sales staff. You will also be trained in spare parts sales, purchasing, accounting and human resources.
You will spend the first year of your apprenticeship with our training partner AZO in Uster. Your second to fourth years will take place at our Wolfhausen location and will involve varied work experience in which you learn about the main stages of product manufacturing at our company. You will initially start with easier tasks, eventually moving on to managing small to large projects independently.
During your apprenticeship, you will work in various departments where you will get to know and work in all aspects of the logistics profession. You can gain substantial experience in the incoming goods department, in the shipping department and in the main warehouse, and you will learn how to use various forklift trucks. In addition, you will attend vocational school once a week, where you will also be taught valuable professional skills.
